Pelvic Health
Follow-Up
A dedicated follow-up appointment to review your progress, reassess pelvic floor function and continue developing your personalised rehabilitation.
FOLLOW-UP ASSESSMENT
YOUR FOLLOW-UP
Building on your progress.
Your follow-up appointment gives us the opportunity to see how things have changed since your previous assessment, review your pelvic floor function and adapt your treatment as you progress.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Your treatment evolves with you.
The content of each follow-up is guided by your symptoms, progress and individual goals.
Review your progress
We will discuss how your symptoms have changed and how you have responded to your rehabilitation so far.
Reassess pelvic floor function
Where appropriate, your pelvic floor may be reassessed to monitor improvements and identify any areas that still require support.
Progress your rehabilitation
Your personalised treatment and exercise programme can be adapted as your strength, control, symptoms and confidence change.
Assess function and movement
A standing pelvic floor assessment may be used where appropriate to explore how your pelvic floor responds to load and functional movement.
Work towards your goals
Rehabilitation can be tailored towards the activities that matter to you, whether that's returning to running, strength training, exercise or everyday activity with greater confidence.
Ongoing guidance and support
You will continue to receive education and practical guidance to help you progress your rehabilitation safely and effectively.
PERSONALISED REHABILITATION
More than simply repeating your exercises.
Pelvic health rehabilitation should progress as you do. Your follow-up allows us to adjust the level, position and challenge of your exercises according to your current function.
As appropriate, we can begin to integrate pelvic floor control into movement, strengthening and the activities that are important to you.
The aim is to help translate improvements in pelvic floor function into everyday movement and the activities you want to return to.
FUNCTIONAL ASSESSMENT
Taking pelvic floor rehab into movement.
Pelvic floor function can change depending on position, movement and the demands placed on your body.
Where clinically appropriate, assessment may therefore progress beyond lying or sitting and look at pelvic floor control in standing and during functional tasks.
This can help guide rehabilitation towards the demands of your daily life, exercise or sport.
YOUR GOALS
Rehab with a purpose.
Your programme can be progressed towards the things you want to feel confident doing again.
Everyday movement
Strength training
Returning to running
Exercise and sport
